In this new edition of this series I bring you one of the first vinyl that I bought.

The album “Burnin'” by Bob Marley and The Wailers.

This is one of the most defining albums in The Wailers’ career. And not only because it marks a before and after in the history of the group as this is the last album made by the original line-up of The Wailers, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer. After this album, the sixth of the group, Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer stopped being part of it and continued their solo careers. From that moment the band began to be called Bob Marley and The Wailers.

The release of this album was in 1973. I have an Italian version of 1978 that I bought in a small second hand store that I found while traveling in Italy. As I said, it was one of the first records that I bought when I started in this hobby and I am still very happy to have done it. Not only is this record in perfect condition and sounds great but it also has several of my favorite songs from The Wailers, songs like “Get Up, Stand Up”, “Burnin ‘And Lootin'”, “Put It On” and “I shot the Sheriff”.

This album “Burnin ‘” is not only number 319 in the list of the best 500 albums of all time of the specialized magazine Rolling Stone but also, in 2007, it was added to the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress of the USA due to its cultural and historical importance at the time it was made.

Right now it is not very difficult to get this album, especially since a new remastered version in vinyl just came out last year which, according to comments, is very good. They are selling it on Amazon and well, you can also buy older versions at Discogs.

This and other vinyl albums can be found in our affiliate store. The list in this store is a personal and varied selection that can be purchased on Amazon. For now we only have the listing for the Amazon website in the USA and the Amazon website in Germany.

And to finish, as always, I leave a list of YouTube videos with some of the songs.
